Like all eCommerce businesses we have lots of data, but data alone is no good, what we need is insight to drive meaningful actions. 


What you’ll be doing

With a portfolio of websites, a key part of trading the websites is understanding performance. You will use Google Analytics and business intelligence tool Tableau to monitor performance of all the key elements of the website to understand the success of the promotional activity, making recommendations for change or answers to data related questions.

Your first task will be to understand and up skill yourself across the various data points within the business – think PPC, Organic Search, Social, Affiliates, Email, Customers, Website (CRM), Offline, Product, and more in order to be part of the continuous journey of solving how our data is collected, queried, and used. With this knowledge you will collect, analyse, identify, and investigate areas of opportunity, communicating progress and benefits to key stakeholders and take overall ownership of the analysis of all online sales data and web analytics to be able to understand performance at a business, channel and individual product level.

Responsible for the technical management and integration of duplex data sources with third party partners, using Google Analytics you will create custom reports and use GA to dive beneath the top-level performance results. Collaborating cross functionally, you will understand the online sales journey paths (first touch point to Sale), and able to create supporting end-to-end funnels, dashboards and digestible reports to impact smart business decisions and drive performance optimisations and uplifts

You will provide detailed analysis for the effectiveness of marketing channels, sales, promotions, and the full online marketing mix with the aim of increasing commercial performance, in easy to understand formats for audiences who are less comfortable with data.


What you’ll bring

You are currently working in a fast-paced eCommerce business ideally in a trading capacity working with multiple channel focused marketing owners.   Advanced knowledge of Excel and Google Analytics, experience with business intelligence platforms are must, while working knowledge of Tableau is advantageous.

In addition to being data orientated, you are commercially savvy and have a good understanding of online KPIs and Sales Funnel Analysis. Investigation into the KPIs supporting marketing channels like PPC, Organic Search, Affiliates and Email are not foreign to you.  You are “hands-on” and enjoy “get things done”. Proactive, a self-starter with high levels of intellectual curiosity, you don’t wait to be told to fix things….you fix them before everyone else knows there was a problem in the first place!

You work well individually and as part of a team. You embrace change and are adaptable. Keen attention to detail and an effective communicator who can visualise and report data to any audience, you are comfortable taking responsibility.

A degree in Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent is desirable however it’s your attitude, knowledge and experience that will separate you from other candidates.
